Preserve Historic Neighborhoods and Parks
Respect “Step down” Limits for Scale of Development

Many neighborhoods along the BeltLine retain historical integrity and nurture vibrant communities alongside cherished parks and open spaces. The original vision of the BeltLine enhanced these neighborhoods and parks. The Atlanta Development Authority has recommended in its BeltLine feasibility study to integrate the new transit system with neighborhoods and parks without detracting from these assets.

Atlanta is a city rich in history, culture and listings on the National Register of Historic Places! Attaining status on the list of historic places is an arduous process, yet Piedmont Park and Virginia Highland, along with other Atlanta neighborhoods, are listed on the National Register.
