Traffic Management Addressed
BNC proposes phased approach to incorporate traffic management for local streets

The BeltLine should be developed in a manner that ensures adequate mobility and accessibility for residents, reduces congestion, improves air quality, and provides for sustainable growth.

The BeltLine Neighbors Coalition is concerned that the proposals for BeltLine development generated by consultants to the Atlanta Development Authority might not fulfill the stated intentions of the ADA: “to give all Atlantans a quality of life unmatched in the United States.” Recent neighborhood workshops conducted by the ADA revealed that residents fear that proposed high density development in already developed neighborhoods will further contribute to traffic congestion while reducing pedestrian and bicycle accessibility to the BeltLine and its trails and parks. The BNC advocates a phased approach to development concurrent with transit, trails and greenspace, and standards for mixed use in development nodes to promote mobility and accessibility without car trips.
